Several Revenue Purpose Statement Elections passed with ease in area school districts on Tuesday. The vote directs how the school districts can spend the penny sales tax revenues from the State.
Edgewood-Colesburg’s Revenue Purpose Statement passed 118 to 10.
In the Independence District the vote passed 211 to 25.
Starmont also passed their Revenue Purpose State 106 to 6.
Voters in Alburnett approved an $11 million bond vote Tuesday. The money will go towards additional classrooms, renovations and security improvements.
Voters in Anamosa rejected a $2.9 million bond measure Tuesday for a new police station, and an addition to the fire station. The measure needed a supermajority to pass, but only received 25% support.
