Students at Beckman Catholic High School in Dyersville have the option to do some alternative learning while they’re home from school.
Principal Marcel Kielkucki says after receiving guidance from the Iowa Department of Education, they are not doing typical online learning for the classes they’re missing, but instead some teachers have offered to teach students from home about a variety of topics they might not otherwise learn about.
Kielkucki says everyone is trying to navigate through the COVID-19 situation together – and it’s important to talk to your kids.
Beckman Catholic is planning ways to reach out to the community in prayer.
Beckman Catholic postponed this weekend’s musical of “Beauty and the Beast”, with hopes that the students can still perform it at some point. The Dueling Pianos fundraiser next Saturday, March 28th has also been postponed.
But Kielkucki says the Beckman Catholic School Board still met for their monthly meeting on Wednesday night as usual, approving teachers’ contracts and their calendar for next school year.
