The social distancing in place for the novel Coronavirus means no worship services at church, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t worshiping from home.
Reverend Tony Ede is the Senior Pastor at First Lutheran Church in Manchester. He says they’re offering parishioners several ways to still connect with the church.
Rev. Ede, who also serves as President of the Delaware County Ministerial, says they’ve also been working with other local churches throughout Delaware County to help them get online with services as well. And it’s not just weekend worship services that are being affected – with the CDC’s guidelines of no more than 10 people gathering, churches have had to make changes to funeral services and weddings, too.
Pastor Ede says he has heard concerns from parishioners as we deal with the changes brought forth by this new virus, but he recalls a moment from a famous movie that he thinks applies during this uncertain time.
The Delaware County Ministerial plans to meet on April 6th to determine whether or not to proceed with Holy Week worship services.
