Despite other courthouses in the state closing their doors due to COVID-19 concerns, the Delaware County Courthouse remains open.
The County Treasurer’s Office and County Attorney’s Office are the only two offices in the courthouse that have decided to close. But Supervisor Jeff Madlom says they plan to keep everything else open as of now.
The Delaware County Board of Supervisors will meet again to reassess the courthouse’s procedures on Wednesday at 9 am.
The Delaware County Board of Supervisors met Monday afternoon for their regular weekly meeting.
The Board further discussed the Independence Wind Project planned north of Ryan on the west side of Highway 13. They approved the application for placement of the Wind Energy Conversion Systems, as well as up to twenty driveway permits. They hope to start construction next spring.
The Board also approved several new hires. Manchester police officer Jason White will fill the new full-time deputy position with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and Dawn Helle has been hired as a full-time Deputy Auditor in the Delaware County Auditor’s Office.
