McDonough’s Facebook Performances Bring Serenity During Difficult Time

Jim McDonough’s music is bringing a sense of calmness during this challenging time.

The pianist, who grew up in Monticello, has been performing live on Facebook during special noontime sessions this past week.

McDonough tells KMCH he’s done the live sessions before when promoting a tour or album – and before all of Coronavirus changes started coming, he had already planned to go live on Facebook last Tuesday.

During the noontime sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays, McDonough goes live on Facebook with performances of his talented piano playing – interacting with the viewers too. On Tuesday, nearly six hundred people tuned in to watch live as he performed such songs as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “How Great Thou Art”. And in his video last Friday, he played a request of people’s favorite songs.

Over 16,000 people have already viewed the video of last Friday’s performance. And McDonough says he’ll keep doing the live noontime sessions as long as it’s helping people through this challenging and isolating time.

And he admits it’s helping him, too.

To view the live sessions, just “Like” and “Follow” the Jim McDonough Music page on Facebook.
