Burns’ Sentencing Delayed Until June

The sentencing of Jerry Burns has been delayed.

The Manchester man was found guilty of First Degree Murder last month in the 1979 murder of Michelle Martinko in Cedar Rapids.

Burns’ sentencing was scheduled for April 17th in Linn County District Court. However, the Coronavirus is delaying most criminal proceedings across the state, so his sentencing has now been pushed back to June 19th.

He is being held without bail.
