Delaware County Starts COVID-19 Relief Fund

A nurse is leading an effort to help Delaware County residents in need during the COVID-19 crisis.

Mindi Jackson began to see the needs emerge in the community through her work as a nurse at Regional Medical Center.

So, Jackson started the Delaware County Pay It Forward COVID19 Facebook page to round up volunteers and resources – and her vision to help others by “filling in the gaps” became a reality.

And now a new fund has been created to help support Jackson’s efforts. It’s called the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County COVID-19 Relief Fund. The foundation board’s advisor, Lisa Guetzko, says they’re happy to be part of it.

The board pledged an immediate grant of three-thousand dollars to get the fund started – with over $6,500 raised this past week and many offers to help.

If you’d like to help – either volunteering your time or making a donation – check out Delaware County Pay It Forward COVID19 on Facebook. Donations for the new relief fund can also be made at dbqfoundation.org/ffdcCovidRelief or you can drop off a check at Dupaco, F&M Bank, GNB or Community Savings Bank in Manchester, Edgewood or Earlville.
