One person was injured in an out-of-control brush fire in Dubuque County on Wednesday.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a farm field just south of 6838 Route 52 South where 87-year old Marvin Weber of Bellevue was burning a pile of brush when an ember started a nearby cornfield on fire.
Weber tried extinguishing the flames when he was overcome by the fire.
He suffered burns and was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Authorities say the status of his injuries is not known at this time.
A John Deere gator that Weber was using was also burned and was a total loss in the fire.
