Delaware County Fair Moving Forward with Plans

The Delaware County Fair Board is moving forward with plans for this summer’s fair.

While COVID-19 has been cancelling or postponing some events through April, May and even June, Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer tells KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker that they’re still planning on holding the fair in July.

The Delaware County Fair is scheduled for July 13th through the 19th, with entertainment by country stars Jon Pardi and Brett Eldredge, ‘80s rock tribute band Hairball and Christian music act We Are Messengers.

While the Iowa State Fair says they’ll likely make a decision in the next two or three months on whether to hold their annual event, Domeyer says she doesn’t have a deadline for making a decision on the Delaware County Fair.

All other county fairs are moving ahead with plans as well. So far, the only fair entertainment in the area that has been cancelled due to COVID-19 precautions is the Zac Brown Band concert – they were scheduled to perform at the Great Jones County Fair on Saturday, July 25th.
