The COVID-19 crisis isn’t slowing down the Delaware County jail project.
Crews are continuing to work at the scene of the future jail and Sheriff’s Office on the far west end of Manchester.
Delaware County Supervisor Jeff Madlom says everything is moving along as expected.
There have been some more minor changes to the project in an effort to cut costs – for example, changing a couple of doors from commercial grade to a less expensive type. And more changes are expected as the project moves along. But Madlom says their consultant, John Hansen, is not expecting any delays due to COVID-19.
The new Delaware County jail and Sheriff’s Office is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
