The City of Manchester says it’ll be flexible with residents who aren’t able to pay their water bill on time during the COVID-19 crisis.
The City Council amended an ordinance on Monday night that waives late fees and penalties on utility bills during the current State of Emergency.

The Manchester City Council also approved a grant between the City and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship for a Stormwater Wetlands Project in Manchester. The matching grant of up to 100-thousand dollars includes installing two urban stormwater wetlands on property on the east end of town owned by the Good Neighbor Society and Wes Schulte.
And the Manchester City Council has approved the hiring of another new police officer. Stone Allen comes to Manchester from the Fayette Police Department. He’ll begin his new position with the Manchester Police Department next week.
