Clayton County Confirms First COVID-19 Death

Clayton County confirmed their first COVID-19 death on Tuesday.

The Clayton County Board of Health says the person was an elderly resident over 81 years old.

The Iowa Department of Public Health announced Tuesday that there were also two more deaths in Linn County related to the novel coronavirus – one older adult and one middle-aged adult. They reported a total of six deaths in Iowa on Tuesday, not including the Clayton County death.

Iowa had 189 additional positive cases for a total of nearly 1,900 cases. 163 people are currently hospitalized and 790 Iowans have recovered from the virus.
