Manchester’s main downtown intersection is closed to traffic for the next two and a half weeks.
It’s part of the City’s Highway 13 Street Improvement Project with the State. City Manager Tim Vick:
The main four corners wasn’t scheduled to be closed until mid-June/early July, but with that intersection a little quieter now because of COVID-19 closures and quarantines, it made sense to get it done now.
At the same time, a second crew will be working on installing water main on the south side of West Main Street from River Street to the main four corners. Vick assures everyone there will be access to all businesses along West Main Street throughout this phase of the project.
Meanwhile, work on the East Main Street project on the other end of Manchester is expected to begin yet this month, with Old Highway 20 closing today between Manchester and Delaware. We’ll keep you updated on both projects here on KMCH.
