The celebration of Backbone State Park’s centennial has been postponed.
Backbone is celebrating its 100th anniversary and a three-day festival had been planned for May 28th through the 30th. The festival was expected to include a visit from Governor Kim Reynolds, as well as a re-dedication ceremony, evening concerts, a 5K run, museum tours, various programs and demonstrations and food and beverage vendors.
But due to COVID-19, the celebration is being pushed back. Officials say they hope to reschedule the event for sometime this fall.
