A long stretch of Old Highway 20 in Delaware County is seeing some major work this year.
Crews closed Old 20 between Manchester and Delaware on Wednesday. Delaware County Engineer Anthony Bardgett says they’re working on milling pavement this week. And on Monday, paving will get underway, starting on Manchester’s far east end and heading east down the highway.
The project will extend all the way to the east city limits of Earlville, giving drivers a smoother ride by the time work is all finished. Bardgett says there will be phases of construction happening all the way up through July.
This project has a cost of about three and a half million dollars. Delaware County is responsible for about two-point-nine million, with the DOT and the cities of Manchester and Earlville also paying a portion.
