RAGBRAI is cancelling this year’s ride.
The annual bicycle ride across Iowa was set to get underway the last week of July – with thousands of riders expected to go from Le Mars to Clinton, including an overnight stop in Anamosa.
But organizers announced Monday the ride won’t happen this year due to COVID-19, saying the safety of their riders has always been the most important focus for their RAGBRAI team.
This year’s RAGBRAI route will remain the same for next year. Riders who registered for RAGBRAI can request a refund, use it for next year’s ride or donate the money to the Iowa Bicycle Coalition.
RAGBRAI is planning several ways to stay connected this year in lieu of the ride. More details about a weekend fall ride will be released this spring.
