Third COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Delaware County

Delaware County has gained its third confirmed COVID-19 case.

The resident is a middle-aged adult. The county’s first two cases have recovered from the virus. One hundred forty-eight Delaware County residents have been tested so far.

Every other local county, with the exception of Buchanan, also reported at least one additional case on Tuesday. Linn County has 51 new cases, Dubuque County two and Clayton, Jones and Fayette counties each have one new case.

Iowa had its highest one-day total of new cases on Tuesday. The Iowa Department of Public Health announced 482 new cases – the previous record was 389, set this past Sunday. Over one hundred of those cases were from Black Hawk County.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Iowa now stands at 3,641. Nearly 1,300 of those cases have recovered.

Eighty-three people have died, including four new deaths Tuesday, with one of those in Linn County. Fifty percent of the people who have died were in long-term care facilities.
