Starmont Announces Plans for Modified Graduation Ceremony

Starmont has announced plans for a modified graduation ceremony.

Graduation is set for Sunday, May 17th at 2 pm, with the school conducting somewhat of a drive-up movie theatre atmosphere for their graduates.

It will take place in the parking lot on the AMPI side of Starmont High School, with technology playing a very big role in the ceremony.

Each of the 41 graduating seniors will have a reserved parking spot close to the building and each student will be given a Chromebook, with the school livestreaming the graduation on the Starmont Facebook page. The student will be allowed out of the vehicle to pick up their diploma.

Following the ceremony, Starmont will host a car cruise for the families – led by fire departments through Arlington, Lamont and Strawberry Point.

They’ll be posting the parade routes so family and community members can cheer on Starmont’s graduates.
