Dubuque County announced its second COVID-19 death on Monday.
The Iowa Department of Public Health says the Dubuque County resident was an older adult between the ages of 61 and 80.
An additional nine deaths were reported in Iowa to start the week, along with 349 additional positive cases. It brings the state’s total to over 5,800 cases and 127 deaths.
Three hundred Iowans are currently hospitalized, with one hundred in intensive care units and 58 on ventilators.
Over two thousand Iowans have now recovered from the virus.
Delaware County gained its fourth case over the weekend. Two of those cases have recovered.
Most other area counties also reported more COVID-19 cases since Friday. The current cases in each area county now stands at:

The IDPH says the number of positive cases will continue to grow as Test Iowa sites open and more surveillance testing of large businesses and nursing home staff continues. Over 38,000 Iowans have been tested so far – that’s one in 82 Iowans. Here in Delaware County, 193 residents have been tested so far.
