Low-income residents who need help paying for heating their homes will now have a little longer to apply for assistance.
Operation New View says they have extended their deadline from April 30th until May 31st.
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program makes a one-time payment to an individual’s primary heat vendor. Since October 1st, Operation New View has received nearly 4,000 applications. The average household is awarded four hundred dollars to help with their heating bills.
Those who qualify and have not yet applied for energy assistance this year can do so by calling 563-556-5130. More information on how to apply can be found online at OperationNewView.org.
