The dedication for the Delaware County Freedom Rock has been postponed.
Officials planned to dedicate the rock on May 23rd, but the event is being pushed back due to COVID-19.
The county’s Freedom Rock is located in Dundee. Iowa artist Ray “Bubba” Sorenson painted a patriotic mural on a large boulder in the city park last August. Sorenson has been traveling the state over the past several years with the goal to paint a Freedom Rock in each county. Delaware County was his 84th Freedom Rock in Iowa.
Dundee Mayor Barb Robinson says they’ll let everyone know when a new date for the dedication is announced.
