There will be no grounds or grandstand entertainment at this year’s Linn County Fair.
The Linn County Fair Association made the announcement Thursday morning. Sawyer Brown had been set to perform at the fairgrounds in Central City on Friday night, June 26th, but that show – along with events like the truck and tractor pull – won’t be happening this year.
Board member Jennifer Dunn says they are hoping to revamp their plans to create a virtual Linn County Fair.
And they’re hoping to still give Linn County’s 4-H and FFA members a chance to show their projects.
Dunn says she knows the news of canceling the Linn County Fair’s grounds and grandstand entertainment is tough on people – she says it’s been tough on the fair board too. But after consulting with Linn County Public Health and the County Board of Supervisors, it just became apparent that June will be too early for large groups to gather as we continue to deal with this COVID-19 pandemic.
