Delaware County’s COVID-19 numbers remained unchanged on Friday.
Two residents who tested positive for the virus are continuing to isolate at home, while five others have already recovered.
The Iowa Department of Public Health incorrectly reported Friday that Delaware County has had one death and eight cases total, but Delaware County Public Health tells KMCH those numbers are incorrect. Delaware County has had no deaths and no hospitalizations.
Overall in Iowa, there were nearly 400 new cases reported Friday, along with a dozen new deaths. It brings the state’s total to nearly 11,500 positive cases and nearly 250 deaths.
Most of the state’s cases are among young adults and middle-aged adults – cases in those two age groups are more than double the cases seen among children, older adults and the elderly.
Just over 400 people are hospitalized with the virus. Nearly 4,700 Iowans have recovered.
Over 70,000 Iowans have been tested. To take an online health assessment and find out whether you should be tested, go to TestIowa.com.
