The Delaware County Fair is still on as planned.
Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer says at this time, they’re still moving ahead with everything as scheduled.
This year’s Delaware County Fair is scheduled for July 13th through the 19th in Manchester, with concerts by Jon Pardi, Brett Eldredge, Hairball and We Are Messengers. The livestock shows are still on as planned, along with the parade, free carnival rides, Harlem Wizards Professional Basketball Game, the Amateur Tough Truck races, Truck and Tractor Pull and Demo Derby. You may have even noticed “Quaran” Dog yard signs popping up across Delaware County that read, “Home is where you need to stay, so in July we all can play”.
And no one is hoping for a fair more than the 4-H and FFA members who have been working on their projects – especially the seniors, who will be showing for the final time. The Delaware County Fair is showcasing some senior livestock showmen in special videos on their Facebook page – hearing from the seniors in their own words with photos of their time in the show ring. And the first one released last week featuring Erin Bonert of Petersburg brought some viewers to tears.
This year we designed a special project to honor some of our senior showmen. These seniors have been working for several months to help us showcase the dedication they have to their project, agriculture and the livestock industry. Now more than ever, we see the impact the show ring has made on our youth. Help us honor these kids over the next couple weeks as we share their stories. #DelCoSeniorShowmen
