The Dyersville Area Relay for Life is coming up soon.
The event is usually held in August, but this year, they pushed it up to the end of May – and with the COVID-19 restrictions, they’ve decided to play it safe by making it a virtual event.
That’s Cindy Willenborg, who is doing some fundraising for the Dyersville Area Relay for Life. She says she wanted to do something unique this year, so she’s decided to collect shoes.
And she says any kinds of shoes will be accepted.
Hundreds of pairs of shoes have already come in. Willenborg is getting close to her goal, but she’s hoping to exceed it.
You can drop shoes off at the Dyersville CARQUEST, Lahr Repair in Delaware or Cascade Lumber, as well as at several homes in the area, including 1312 East Main Street in Manchester (just put them in the bin by the grill) or 806 Lexington Street in Delhi (just leave them on the front steps). The shoes will be collected through June 15th.
