West Delaware Planning May 30th Commencement

West Delaware is planning their commencement ceremony for May 30th.

School administration says the revised ceremony will celebrate their students while meeting social distancing guidelines.

A procession will begin at the back parking lot of the high school and travel around the Beckman Complex, ending at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. Students and their family will be encouraged to travel together and decorate their vehicle. The cars will be arranged to allow as much viewing of the stage as possible.

The program will include a student speaker, class songs, the reading of the students’ names and traditional processional and recessional music. Students will be able to walk across the stage in their cap and gown after picking up their diploma, with KMCH Sports Director Jon Swisher announcing the graduate.

The ceremony will be broadcast here on KMCH beginning at 10 am, with a link to the livestream of the event also posted on the West Delaware website.
