The Delaware County Fair is moving ahead with their plans for a fair this summer.
The recent poll conducted on Facebook showed overwhelming support for holding a fair this year. Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer says as of now, the fair scheduled for July 13th through the 19th is on.
This year’s Delaware County Fair will include country concerts by Brett Eldredge on Friday night, July 17th and Jon Pardi on Saturday night, July 18th, as well as VIP Night with rock & roll tribute band Hairball on Thursday night, July 16th. Domeyer says the best way you can show your support for the fair is to purchase tickets to those shows.
The Delaware County Fair will also feature the annual parade and free inflatables on Monday night, a Harlem Wizards Professional Basketball Game on Tuesday night, Amateur Tough Truck and Christian concert act We Are Messengers on Wednesday night, the Truck & Tractor Pull on Thursday night and the Demo Derby on Sunday. And a live shark encounter and remote control car races are among the free fairgrounds entertainment this year, along with the return of free carnival rides and all of the 4-H/FFA shows and judging.
So far, the only fair in the area to change their plans due to COVID-19 is the Linn County Fair. Linn County has cancelled their grandstands and grounds entertainment and will be moving their 4-H and FFA judging to a virtual format. And the only concert act to cancel at this time is the Zac Brown Band – they were scheduled to perform at the Great Jones County Fair on Saturday night, July 25th, with no replacement act yet announced.
