The Buchanan County Fair has cancelled its grandstand and grounds entertainment for 2020.
The announcement came late Tuesday afternoon. Fair officials say due to the ongoing social distancing guidelines and efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19, they made the difficult decision to cancel the events out of an abundance of caution.
The cancellation includes the scheduled tractor pull, demo derby, races, carnival and the Eddie Montgomery/LANCO concert.
The 4-H and FFA shows have not been cancelled at this time. Buchanan County ISU Extension and Outreach is working to put together a plan that showcases the youth’s talents and hard work in a traditional manner, while keeping guests and exhibitors healthy. A final decision will be made by June 12th.
