Heavy Rains Cause Flash Flooding in Buchanan County

Heavy rains led to flash flooding in Buchanan County Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Buchanan and northwestern Delaware counties after nearly three inches of rain fell during a slow-moving storm. A trained spotter reported over two and a half inches of rain in Independence within three hours Thursday morning.

Flash flooding was reported near Hazleton. Buchanan County Emergency Management reported water was flowing over sections of Highway 150 between Hazleton and Independence.
