Delaware County Gains Two New COVID-19 Cases; One More Recovers

Delaware County has gained two new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Delaware County Public Health announced Wednesday that the county’s total number of confirmed cases during this pandemic has reached 19.

Their department also announced one more Delaware County resident has recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 15.

There are currently three active cases, all isolating at home.

Delaware County Public Health announced the county’s first death related to COVID-19 on Tuesday – an elderly resident in the 81+ age range. No other details were released.

There have been no hospitalizations in the county due to the virus.

720 Delaware County residents have been tested for COVID-19, including 21 on Tuesday.

Statewide, over 20,000 Iowans have tested positive, with over 560 deaths. Nearly 12,000 Iowans have recovered from COVID-19 and nearly 165,000 Iowans have been tested.
