ATV Ordinance Goes into Effect for Linn County

ATVs can now be driven on some Linn County roads.

A new ordinance goes into effect today allowing the use of ATVs and off-road vehicles on certain county roads in unincorporated Linn County.

The County Board of Supervisors approved the ordinance following multiple public input sessions. The vote passed 2-1, with Supervisor Ben Rogers opposed to the ordinance noting safety concerns.

Linn County’s new ATV ordinance contains many provisions, including hours of sunrise to sunset, drivers must be at least 16 years old with valid driver’s license and no driving more than 35 miles per hour.
