Dubuque County Fair Shortened to Four Days, No Mainstage Concerts

The Dubuque County Fair will be modified and shortened to four days this year.

In a letter released Wednesday night, the Dubuque County Fair Association’s Board of Directors says they have spent many hours considering whether they can safely provide a fair by following social distancing guidelines and whether it was financially feasible to have a fair during this time. The board says after much discussion, they have decided to hold the 67th Annual Dubuque County Fair Thursday, July 30th through Sunday, August 2nd.

The fair is postponing both mainstage concerts, as well as most grounds entertainment – including the midway, roaming acts and some competitions. The fair still plans to hold the Sprint Invaders/Open Wheel Races on Thursday night, the Demo Derby on Friday night, the Fantasy Truck Pull and ECIPA Truck and Tractor Pull on Saturday and the Julien Dubuque Classic Races on Sunday. There will also be bands each day in the Festival Garden, exhibitors in the Exhibit Hall and on the grounds and fair food. They will also be announcing information on Open Class Creative Arts Exhibits and Livestock Shows. Updates on the fair schedule can be found at dbqfair.com.

Dubuque County 4-H/FFA exhibition details are still being worked on by the ISU Extension and Outreach, with more information to come soon.

Ticketholders of the concerts will have the option of keeping their tickets for the rescheduled dates or requesting a refund within a 30-day window. Ticketholders who purchased a ticket through Ticketmaster will receive an email directly from Ticketmaster. Those who purchased a ticket from the fair office will need to contact the fair directly at 563-588-1406 or dbqfair@dbqfair.com.
