Delaware County Public Health Explains COVID-19 Exposure

As COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and communities re-open, people are starting to gather again.

Delaware County Public Health says they realize some people may be concerned that they have attended an event or gathering where someone may have later tested positive. Coordinator Charity Loecke assures residents that Public Health has a process in place to conduct contact tracing – and they’ll be identifying people who may have been in close contact with the person who tested positive.

If you are identified as a close contact, she says Public Health will reach out to you.

And if you are exposed to COVID-19, Loecke says you CAN get tested through the State Hygienic Lab.

Delaware County Public Health encourages residents to continue taking steps to slow the spread of COVID-19, including washing your hands often, staying home when you feel even mildly sick, keep six-feet social distance and consider wearing a cloth mask or face covering when out in public.
