Severe Weather Moves Through Eastern Iowa

Severe weather moved through eastern Iowa Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued several severe thunderstorm warnings across the KMCH listening area, with strong winds and heavy rain the biggest threats.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office shared several Facebook photos of property damage due to the high winds. Tree and powerline damage was reported in Postville. The National Weather Service also received a storm damage report from Buchanan County, where large tree branches snapped off trees about five miles southwest of Lamont.

Heavy rain was also reported across the area, with nearly three inches of rain falling north of Arlington.
