An Elkader business has been awarded a grant from the state.
Cutting Edge Archery won a $10,000 grant for their business plans. They were one of five businesses from Main Street Iowa communities across the state competing in a statewide virtual pitch contest called the Open 4 Business Contest. One business – Pressed, a boutique in Spencer – topped the other four competitors to win $20,000.
Cutting Edge Archery will use their $10,000 grant to expand their equipment, including 4-D software, and expand their space to accommodate special events and an archery league.
This is the sixth year for the Open 4 Business Contest, which is open to businesses located in the 55 Main Street Iowa district across the state. The grants are administered through IEDA’s Iowa Downtown Resource Center and Main Street Iowa programs.
