HS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Results from Tuesday 7-21

The West Delaware Hawks Softball team improved their mark to 21-4 by winning game number 15 in a row with an 8-2 win over Washington at Sill Field last night. The victory put the Hawks into the State tournament for the 5th time in 10 seasons and 15th time in program history. Behind the strong arm of senior pitcher Macey Kleitsch who earned her 14th win of the season, 6 Hawks had an RBI offensively. WD will play at 4:30 on Monday afternoon as the 2-seed against the 7-seed Winterset.

The Western Dubuque Bobcats season ended in Eldridge 10-0 to North Scott in 5 innings.

In Baseball-

The Monticello Panthers closed at 6-8 with a 6-0 loss to Durant in Maquoketa. The Panthers playing in their 3rd ever substate were denied a chance of their first ever state tournament.

The 2nd-ranked North Linn Lynx downed New Hampton 6-3 in Waverly for their fourth trip to state in a row and fifth total since 2015. North Linn will find out who they will play on Monday in the next couple days. It will either be at 10:30, 1:30, 4:30 or 7:30pm.
