Delaware County’s COVID-19 Hospitalizations Increase to Three

Three Delaware County residents are now hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Delaware County Public Health announced Thursday that two more residents were admitted to the hospital for the virus. The first patient was hospitalized earlier this week. Public Health officials are not releasing any details about the patients’ ages, conditions or where they are hospitalized.

Delaware County also gained four new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. There are currently twelve active cases, with nine of those cases isolating at home.

A total of 71 cases have been reported in Delaware County since the pandemic started. Fifty-eight of those cases have since recovered. One death due to COVID-19 was reported in early June.

Over 1,800 Delaware County residents have been tested for the coronavirus.

Statewide, over 40,000 Iowans have tested positive for COVID-19 from more than 430,000 tests conducted.
