Motorcyclist Injured in Manchester Collision

One person was injured in an accident in Manchester this week.

It happened Monday afternoon during the noon hour at the intersection of West Marion Street and South 5th Street.

Manchester Police say a northbound pickup collided with a westbound motorcycle while making a left turn onto West Marion. The motorcycle veered off and went onto the curb, coming to rest on the grassy terrace.

Police say the motorcyclist, 53-year old Daniel Hahesy of Manchester, was found lying in the street. He was transported to Regional Medical Center before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with what authorities believed were non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup, 70-year old Curtis Meyer of Manchester, was not hurt. He has been charged with failing to yield upon a left turn.
