HS STATE SOFTBALL/BASEBALL: Results from Tuesday 7-28

Day number two of the State Softball Tournament in Fort Dodge saw the North Linn Lynx improved their record to  24-0 winning their 30th game in a row dating back to last season. The Lynx ended their 17th game early this season as they defeated Ridge View 10-0 in 5 innings. They advance on to the semifinals for the 2nd season in a row as they face Northeast this late afternoon at 5pm. The Rebels came back to beat Central Springs 5-4 with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 7th. Clarksville nipped Akron-Westfield 7-6

Davenport Assumption posted a 15-0 3 inning win against Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley

Williamsburg got past Algona 3-1

At the State Baseball Tournament in Des Moines:

Class 3A Quarterfinals-

Clear Creek-Amana was clipped by Norwalk 4-3

Marion with a huge upset over the number 1 seed Sergeant Bluff-Luton 3-1

Benton Community was edged by Dallas Center-Grimes 1-0

Gilbert shutout ADM 4-0
