Delaware County has wrapped up a road project east of Edgewood.
Crews were working on 102nd Street past Kelchen Grain stabilizing the gravel road. County Engineer Anthony Bardgett says they used a product called Base One – it mixes with water and is then injected in the gravel road as they are grading and mixing the top four to six inches of gravel.
Bardgett says the product sets up really hard and helps prevent soft spots during the spring thaw. He says they also don’t need to blade the road as often.
The County has tried this product on several roads so far and they say it’s worked pretty well.
The project took about a week to complete, with crews wrapping up their work last Tuesday.
