Authorities have released information about the accident that injured a pedestrian in downtown Manchester on Thursday.
It happened shortly before 11:30 am at the intersection of East Main and West Madison Street. The Iowa State Patrol says a northbound pickup was turning west onto East Main and hit a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The pedestrian, Donna Boss of Manchester, was not seriously hurt. She was transported to Regional Medical Center to be evaluated for possible injuries.
The driver, 34-year old Daniel Eibey of Ryan, told authorities he was looking down into his center console organizing some paperwork and didn’t see Boss crossing the street until his truck came into contact with her.
Eibey has been charged with failing to yield to pedestrian’s right of way.
