Delaware County is seeing an increase in the number of active COVID-19 cases.
Delaware County Public Health announced Wednesday that the county has jumped from 26 to 31 active cases – that’s the highest number so far. One of those residents is hospitalized, while the other are isolating at home.
Seven new cases were also announced on Wednesday, bringing Delaware County’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to date to 123. With over 17,000 residents, that means less than one percent of the county has tested positive.
The Iowa Department of Public Health says nearly 2,500 Delaware County residents have been tested for the virus so far, so nearly five percent of those getting tested test positive.
Delaware County Public Health also reported two more people have recovered from the virus since Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 91.
