Delaware County Gains Eleven New COVID-19 Cases Since Friday

Delaware County gained eleven new COVID-19 cases since Friday.

The Iowa Department of Public Health says the county’s total number of cases during the pandemic now stands at 137. Twenty-five of those cases are currently active, including three Delaware County residents who are hospitalized.

Twelve more Delaware County residents have recovered from the coronavirus since Friday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 111.

Over 2,600 residents in the county have been tested, with less than one percent of Delaware County residents testing positive.

Delaware County Public Health will no longer release case number updates to the public every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The county’s public health officials say with COVID-19 actively spreading in our communities and with the continued increasing caseload, the focus of Delaware County Public Health will be communicating with these new COVID-19 cases and the contact tracing involved with each new case.

Delaware County Public Health is asking everyone to continue following the guidelines put forth – keep six feet of physical distance between you and others, wear a face covering when you cannot maintain six feet separation and stay home when you are even mildly ill.
