A second COVID-19 death has been reported in Delaware County.
Delaware County Public Health confirmed the death on Thursday. They are not releasing any other details.
The county’s first COVID-19 death was reported by Delaware County Public Health in early June.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, there are 32 active cases in Delaware County as of Thursday afternoon, including four residents who are currently hospitalized. Fourteen new cases were reported this week, bringing the total number of positive cases during the pandemic to 151. Six more Delaware County residents recovered from the virus this week, bringing the total number of recoveries to 117.
The IDPH also reports over one hundred Delaware County residents were tested for COVID-19 this week, bringing the total number of tests to 2,711.
Based on those numbers, less than one percent of Delaware County’s 17,000+ residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.
