A team from Manchester United Methodist Church has been in Linn County the past two weeks helping to clear trees.
Rev. Phil Rogers serves as a district disaster coordinator for the northeast district of the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church. He and another coordinator in the Cedar Rapids area have been collaborating to organize efforts to help cut down and remove trees in the city. Tree crews have been in high demand since winds up to 140 miles per hour ripped through the Cedar Rapids area.
Rev. Rogers says they’ve been working in Cedar Rapids since the day after the storm hit. And they plan to keep working until everyone has been helped and everyone is safe.
If you can offer help with cutting down trees or help with clearing debris, call Rev. Phil Rogers at 927-4439.
