The Delaware County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing Monday on an application for a confined feeding operation in the southeast corner of the county. The request comes from Marty Burlage, who is proposing a new 1,699-head deep pit cattle confinement building in Section 36 of South Fork Township. It will be an expansion to an existing cattle confinement facility that currently holds 499 head. The County will send a letter of support for Burlage’s application to the DNR.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the Supervisors acknowledged the resignation of Union Township Clerk Joan Kelchen.
And the Delaware County Supervisors received an update on the Delaware County Jail and Sheriff’s Office project from John Hansen with Midwest Construction Consultants. Several change orders were approved by the board on Monday, including an additional cost of nearly $4,500 for conduit for 911 service lines, the control room and equipment. The jail project is expected to wrap up by January.
