Delaware County COVID-19 Positivity Rate Around 14%

Delaware County COVID-19 positivity rate has been hovering around 14% this week – and Delaware County Public Health says that’s a sign that the virus is spreading more aggressively. Public Health Coordinator Charity Loecke:

And if Delaware County has a higher positivity rate, it could affect the schools.

By Thursday night, Delaware County’s positivity rate had reached 14.3%. As of 6:30 pm last night, the county had 241 positive cases and four hospitalizations. Delaware County Public Health is asking for everyone’s help in reducing the spread of the virus.

She says symptoms can vary from person to person.

If you meet exposure criteria, someone from Public Health will be in contact with you through their contact tracing procedures and you’ll need to follow quarantine guidance.

You can keep track of the county’s numbers and positivity rate on the state’s website at coronavirus.iowa.gov.
