Dubuque County Supervisors Vote Down Mask Mandate

The Dubuque County Supervisors are saying “no” to a mask mandate.

The Board voted down a county-wide face covering resolution by a vote of 2-1 on Tuesday morning.

The Dubuque County Board of Health recently unanimously voted in favor of a mask mandate, which would have required anyone older than 3-years-old to wear a mask in public when social distancing is not possible. The mandate would have applied to all parts of Dubuque County, except within the city limits of Dubuque (which already has a mask mandate).

Dubuque County mayors are being asked to take the issue to their local city councils.
