Dyersville Moving Ahead with Trick-or-Treating

Dyersville is moving ahead with Trick-or-Treating.

The Dyersville City Council held a short discussion about it at their council meeting this week after getting several calls from residents wondering if trick-or-treating would be held this year due to the pandemic.

City Clerk Tricia Maiers says she’s heard of a handful of Iowa communities that have already made a decision on trick-or-treating this year and their decisions are split – some are choosing to hold it and other towns have decided to cancel.

Mayor Jim Heavens and city council members agreed that those who want to participate in Dyersville’s trick-or-treating can – and if residents don’t want trick-or-treaters coming to their door, they can simply leave their lights turned off that evening.

Dyersville trick-or-treating has been set for the night of Halloween on Saturday, October 31st from 5 to 7 pm.
