Delaware County’s COVID-19 positivity rate and number of active cases are down for the second week in a row.
Delaware County’s positivity rate currently sits at 10.8%. That’s down from 13.5% a week ago. The positivity rate reflects the past 14-day average of positive COVID-19 cases, based upon the total number of people tested in the county.
On Monday, Delaware County Public Health reported the county has 32 active positive cases. That’s less than the 41 active cases the county had last week Monday. Three of those residents are hospitalized, while the others are recovering at home.
The number of Delaware County COVID-19 deaths still stands at three.
Delaware County gained 23 new positive cases this past week. The Iowa Department of Public Health says as of Monday, nearly 3,500 Delaware County residents have been tested, with 285 testing positive since April – that’s less than two percent of the county’s population.
